Hosting and server logs

The site is run by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When a page is requested, the server processes technically necessary data such as the IP address, the time and the requested address in order to deliver the site and protect it from misuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

No trackers, no account

Strainmap sets no cookies for analytics, shows no advertising, embeds no third-party services and needs no account. Fonts and images come from our own server.

Submitting a strain

If you submit a strain through the form, you only send details about the strain. We do not ask for contact details. We store the details, the time and a salted hash of the IP address and the day, which only serves to limit mass submissions and cannot be traced back to a person (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Submissions are reviewed once a month; the raw data is deleted after the review.

Rating strains

Rating a strain with stars needs no account and no text. Your browser creates a random key for this and keeps it in local storage; we only store a hash of it, so that every device can rate a strain once and change the rating later. We also store the number of stars, the time and a salted hash of the IP address and the day, which only limits mass ratings (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Settings in the browser

A cookie without an identifier remembers for one year whether the tutorial has been shown. Music volume and mute are kept in your browser's local storage. Neither leaves your device.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. To do so, write to us at help@posthopeproduction.com.
